AI candidate matching

Search the candidates you already have on file for people who fit an open role — without waiting for them to apply.

How it's different from screening

AI resume screening (see AI features) works forward — someone applies to a job, and you score their fit. Matches works backward: it searches your unassigned candidate pool — people not currently tied to any specific job — for anyone who might fit a role you're hiring for right now.

Using it

  1. Go to Matches in the main navigation.
  2. Pick an open job from the dropdown.
  3. Click Find Matches.

FocalVAHire sends each pool candidate's resume (or profile details, if there's no resume on file) to Claude along with your job description, and gets back a fit score (0–100%), a short summary, their top matching skills, and any gaps. Results are shown as cards, highest score first, each linking straight to that candidate's profile.

Prerequisites

  • You need candidates in your pool — added manually or imported, not currently assigned to a job — for there to be anything to search. An empty pool means no results.
  • Requires a Pro plan for unlimited use; lower plans use AI credits per search and stop with an upgrade or buy-credits prompt once they run out.
  • Requires the platform operator to have an Anthropic API key configured.

Up to 20 pool candidates are scored per search.
