Developer API

Programmatic read/write access to your jobs and candidates from your own systems.

Requires the Enterprise plan.

Getting a key

  1. Go to Settings → Developer.
  2. Click New key, optionally name it (e.g. "Internal dashboard").
  3. Copy the key shown — this is the only time it's displayed. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one; there's no way to view an existing key again.

Send it as a bearer token on every request:

What you can do

  • List, create, read, and update jobs
  • List and read candidates (filter by job or status)
  • Update a candidate's status — this triggers the exact same side effects a status change in the UI does: rejection emails, Slack/Zapier/Make.com webhooks, and the BambooHR push, so external tools stay in sync with everything else automatically

Limits

  • 300 requests per 5 minutes, per key.
  • Creating a job through the API fires the same job board webhook and feed update as creating one in the UI — see Job boards & distribution.

Revoking a key

From Settings → Developer, click Revoke next to any key. It stops working immediately — any system still using it starts getting 401 errors right away, so make sure nothing still depends on it before revoking.
